Blue-chip Azuki Teases New NFT Collection

In a June 28 blog post, Azuki hints at launching a new non-fungible token collection in the coming months or weeks. The teaser appears just hours after launching a new NFT collection called “Elementals.”The new NFT collection went live on June 27 and sold out all in presale.

Launched in November 2021, Chiru Labs is a web3 studio aimed at shaping the future of storytelling. The digital asset firm is renowned for creating one of the most successful non-fungible projects in the NFT sector. The crypto firm builds products at the intersection of art, technology, and community.

Earlier last year, the digital asset firm launched Azuki, an NFT collection featuring a limited edition of 10,000 NFTs hosted on the Ethereum network. The NFT collection has since grown to become one of the most successful NFT collections in the short history of crypto.

On June 27, Azuki creator launched a new NFT collection on the Ethereum network. The much-awaited NFT collection featured a limited edition of 20,000 anime-themed NFTs. The new NFT collection works like most profile picture NFTs (PFP NFTs,) utilizing a randomized selection of traits to create each unique character.

The new Elementals NFTs came into four domains, including Earth, Fire, Lightning and Water, each in its unique aspect. Each domain is built in the Azuki universe in a different way. Elementals NFTs featured artworks from popular digital artists like Tenn, Timugi, and Skycrow.

Azuki Receives Community Backlash

Even though the new Azuki Elementals can be described as successful, Azuki has received short backlash from its crypto community. Several collectors complained that the new NFT collection went contrary to their anticipation.

Most NFT collectors have complained that Elementals NFTs were identical to Azuki NFTs. Some NFT collectors also complained of bottleneck challenges as bids went higher than what the Azuki network would process.

Despite facing some technical glitches, Azuki Elementals NFT minting was successful, raising a trading sales volume of more than $40 million. Azuki has hinted at launching its upcoming NFT collection on its Beanz Official NFT collection.
